Easton Recycles |
| Easton began weekly curbside collection
of recyclables on January 7, 1991. Each household has been
provided with a blue recycling bin. |

The following items are
acceptable for curbside pickup: |

Glass |
| Empty, rinsed, unbroken bottles/jars,
clear, brown and green glass. (Discard tops in household trash). |
|
Plastic |
| Empty, rinsed, juice, soda, water, milk
and detergent bottles. Any bottle marked with the recycling sign
1 or 2. (Discard tops in household trash). No plastic bags
accepted. Flatten large non-deposit plastic containers. |
|
Metal |
| Empty, rinsed, food/bev, cans, clean
aluminum food trays. |
|
Newspapers |
| Unsoiled newspapers only, including all
inserts. Tied with twine or put in paper bags. |
|
Misc. |
| In addition to the curbside recycling
program, Easton residents may drop-off waste motor oil,
auto/truck batteries and waste anti-freeze at the Town Garage,
Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm. Residents may drop off
recyclables at the Trumbull Transfer Station, on Spring Hill
Road, just off Route 25 in Trumbull, Monday-Friday from 7:00am
to 2:45pm and Saturday from 7:00am to 11:45am. |
| The following recyclable items are also
accepted at this site: Junk mail, corrugated boxes, scrap metal,
used tires, (fee charged). There is no fee for recyclables at

Solid Waste |
Residents must dispose of their own garbage. |
There is no municipal pick-up of refuse. |
Consult the directory for local, licensed
haulers. |
Residents wishing to take their garbage to
the Trumbull Transfer Station, must purchase Refuse Disposal
Tickets at the Easton Town Hall. The Trumbull Transfer Station
operates Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 2:45pm and Saturday from
7:00am to 11:45am. |
